The Federal Communications Commission Rural Healthcare Pilot Program to build a telehealth network throughout the state of Oregon to support and improve health care delivery and health care education.

Oregon Health Network (OHN) Request for Proposals asked for proposals for a Network Operations Center, proposals for 4 regional exchanges around the state of Oregon. One Central Point, Oregon company and Data Center West of Medford, Oregon each submitted proposals for a Southern Oregon exchange. Data Center West provided the only carrier-neutral exchange proposal for Southern Oregon and is therefore the successful proposer for the Southern Oregon exchange. All of the vendors submitted “no cost to OHN” proposals, so no Rural Health Care Pilot Program (RHCPP) funds were needed for the Request For Proposal (RFP).

Oregon Health Network (OHN) is an Oregon not-for-profit public benefit corporation formed to expand broadband capacity in Oregon to support telemedicine and health care education. OHN's goal is to provide universal access to the highest level of health care services throughout Oregon in both rural and urban communities.

The power of the internet exchange

The Power of the Internet Exchange

The days of relying on the service fluctuations of the public Internet are over!  Each OHN provider site benefits from the “OHN Service Level Agreement”. This ensures that your provider connections will stay on the highway and not get stuck in the traffic jams and random quality associated with a traditional public Internet connection.  http://www.oregonhealthnet.org/services/regxchange
